Guns don’t kill people, people (with guns) kill people.

Citing the likelihood of failure is not an argument to do nothing. Average citizens need assault rifles? For what? Why do average citizens need assault rifles? Why does anyone need to buy multiple guns to defend themselves in their home or car? Why would having guns be more plentiful rather than less plentiful be better for society? These are questions.
