The Decemberists passable. not unpleasant to listen to. in fact, too easy to listen to. in fact, kind of uninspiring. it's fine but it's just recycling older musical ideas and styles. lyrics are clever but nothing better than cracker, marcy playground, other voice-affected folk-rock stuff. the horns even remind me of cake. err, umm. i don't want to be reminded of cake. anyway this band is fine. just not worth a detour (in my quest for newness).
