I saw Tarkovsky's last film (I think) last night -- Nostalgia. Set in Italy (Tuscany and Rome), in Italian, with Catholicism as the main religion not Greek Orthodoxy. Kind of slow and heavy -- even slower and heavier than his others, and less wonderful. But there were some great parts. The opening image -- a man driving a VW to a church in Italy -- is great. Lots of beautiful shots of Italy -- its buildings and landscape. The stone. So see it.
