As soon as I hear
about some harvard person
talking about "people who were smart enough to get into Harvard"
it makes me irrationally angry. I'm sure harvard
is a wonderful place, populated by very nice and interesting people who aren't
any more likely to be arrogant or stupid than anyone else. But the one annoying
trait they all share is that they are so sure that everyone cares that they
went to harvard, or at least
cares about harvard. They may deny that they believe
it, but deep down they believe it. I know that no one really gives a crap about
williams. Which
makes it easier for me to keep in mind the essential truth that no one with any
sense really cares about where anyone else went to college. Harvard
people have a harder time remembering that.
